After reading about how the winstons’ drummer never got a penny in royalties for the tens of thousands of times the amen break was sampled, i created this tribute in hydrogen and audacity using a free kit. Have fun!.

Two young men, one on a drum kit, his friend with a cow bell, improvising percussion in a square in copenhagen. Recorded with a hand-held mp3 player. After a few minutes, i walked away, so you'll hear the drumming get fainter and conversations of other pedestrians and shoppers in danish.

Originally made for the disquiet junto project 0433: "kit bits: create a kit’s worth of percussion samples. ". I used 1. Recordings with a telephone coil microphone recording sounds from an external blu ray drive and a smartphone (telephone coil recorded via behringer xenyx q1202 usb mixer, line-in) and 2. Random recordings from a soma ether device (recorded with zoom h1n, line-in). In these recordings i picked up those areas which i though to be useful for a drum kit, just as i would do it for myself. This is a low quality recording from a panasonic dvx camcorder microphone. This is a recording of random drum beats. Because of the low quality recording, i have not separated any of the beats, and have faded one into the other. The drum shells are spaun, and the cymbals are a mixture of zildjian and paiste.

A whistling sound. This sound would probably work best in edm or hip-hop songs. It's really cool-sounding. Feel free to use without attribution, however you want. This sound was created with groovepad.

Old yamaha drum kit recorded through a qfx shoebox taperecorder's built in mic. Then i played the tape and recorded a voicenote on a samsung galaxy note s1. I like the grain and texture so hopefuly helps for your lo-fi intended tracks.

This is the fat snare of god expanded, improved, and played with rubber sticks. There are more softer hits, for a better feeling at fills.

I performed and recorded all of these samples in my studio. Mostly rock and metal grooves. So slice & dice, hack & slash, scoop & loop, smash & bash. Make some noise!.

An attempt to make an entire drum kit using only cymbal sounds. Cymbals were pitch-shifted, compressed, equalized, and subjected to other effects in order to make them capable of filling the roles usually occupied by actual drums. Standard 808 kit with individual compression. Lfo effects applied to the claps so the echoes move around the eq frequencies. Loops perfectly at 130bpm, hope you enjoy.
